zines

From 2001 to 2005, Ellen Adams published and distributed two
print zines, first Gumshoe Monkey, then September Coming Soon.
She published ten issues under each title.

Her zines were nominated for an Utne Independent Press Award.

Made of prose, poetry and comics, the zines were sold at
independent press shops, including Baltimore's Atomic Books,
and featured in Zine World and Xerography Debt. Ellen later
worked as a reviewer for Xerography Debt and kept a zine
library at the Thacher School in Ojai, California.

Although now out of print, Gumshoe Monkey and September Coming
Soon
can be accessed through Salt Lake City Public Library's
zine collection and the Denver Zine Library.
